We specified 3500 psi non-air entrained concrete at slab on grade for a commercial project, and the GC poured 3500 psi air entrained concrete. Does it make a difference? I would appreciate your input.
air entrainment does reduce the strength, however it also reduces the water cement ratio so that strength reduction due to air may be partially offset. To compensate, most suppliers add more cement to their air entrained mixes to bring it back into spec.
