Hi,

What is the difference between Advanced Simulation and Motion Simulation?

Thanks!

Hello CAD2015,

Advanced Simulation - is Finite Element Analysis (FEA). One body will be cut into many pieces, many points. Thus 1 body will have many calculation points, and the body can be deformed to give deformation and stress result.

Motion Simulation - is rigid body Analysis. One body represents one calculation point, and the body cannot be deformed (because it is rigid), so no deformation and stress result. The objective of this simulation is to evaluate force and displacement result though.

Kind regards,
Tuw

and, the results from Motion simulation can be inputs to FEA simulation.
( and i assume the opposite too.)

Regards,
Tomas

Thank you both!

right Toost:)

In NX / Simcenter, we can integrate FEA and Motion Simulation together, called Flexible Body Analysis. This is an advanced topic to give flexibility to a rigid body (thus making it a flexible body or finite element body) defined in Motion Simulation, to evaluate for displacement and stress result.
