There many advantages both have over each other: What fluid? What rating of cleanliness inside the pipe is needed? What pressures? What material for the pipe?
Where will you be putting these together? How controlled are your dimensions? Any field joints? All shop joints on prefabricated parts with known jigs and fittings? Do you need to flush or paint or NDE or hydro sub-assemblies?
Any crud traps or radiation traps or "food" traps that will cause problems? What is your skill set of the people putting these together? What is your schedule? How many joints are you putting together?
working pressure is 150 bar .line is in CS material with no bends. Only two pressure sensing points in between & line is approx. 4 metre long. In between two line there r two isolation valve & two PRV.
All shop welded joints .no traces of radiation .
Unless Crevice Corrosion is an issue, Socket fittings are faster, thus cheaper, than buttwelds. 1/2"Sch 160 requires a welder with a VERY high skill level, and under ASME Code he will need a special qualification to weld below 1"OD [3/4"NPS] due to that extra skill requirement.
