In ACI 318-05 Appendix D, Sections D.5.3.4 and D.5.4.1 the term Abrg is mentioned, but I don't see it defined other than in Chapter 2. Am I missing something. What is the equation for Abrg?

I'm thinking ALL the variables are defined over in the front of ACI-318, which can make it a little awkward, sometimes. I assume Abrg would be the bearing area on a headed anchor bolt.

Yes, it is the net bearing area of the head - discounting of course the shaft of the bolt.

It could also be the bearing area of the plate if you need to use something larger than the nut or head of a headed rod.
