I am trying to find a definitive list of accidents that are considered "correctable" by a traffic signal in order to satisfy a traffic signal warrant for installation. Since the warrant specifically states that a certain number of "correctable" crashes must have occurred. What types of accidents have you considered correctable when reviewing the Accident warrant?

Mostly right angle crashes.

left turn crashes for traffic turning off the main road, if you have a protected phase.

Rear-end crashes may go up, especially if your yellow clearance time is too short, or sight distance to the signal heads or to the back of the queue is inadequate for the approach speed.

What crash pattern are you trying to correct?

Correctable accidents would involve crashes between main street vehicles and sidestreet vehicles attempting to enter the intersection.
