Hi All,
One pipe manufacturer asked me if it is acceptable to manufacture 7.5 meter length ASTM A106 Gr.B 1.1/2" Sch80 pipes using 6.0 meter A106 Gr.B 2" Sch80 pipes by cold drawn method.
As far as I understand, the acceptable starting material type for seamless pipe can be ingot, bloom or billet as clearly specified in API 5L Table 3.
However there is no clear such statement in ASTM A106.
Can seamless pipe be a starting material type for seamless pipes under ASTM?
Thanks in advance.
