Accelerated testing of gear trains.

Has anyone experience in or knowlege of using accelerants, specifically abrasives, in in-situ accelerated testing of spur and/or helical plastic gears? I am considering the use of water-based diamond particle polishing compounds in the 4um to 8um size range.
