Hi!!
i use SHELL131 element witch have more than one integration points. I want that Ansys do his evaluation at juste one integration point, at the centroidal point of the element. in other words, i want that my element have juste one integration point. How can i do that please.
Thank's in advance.

There may be a way to do this in a round about way using APDL but I cannot confirm that. What are you trying to do exactly? Does your model have too many DOF's? If so why don't you just remesh it using a courser mesh (twice the size of that you're presently using) which in essence is the same exact thing.

I’m trying to do a coupled analysis (thermal to structural), so i use the element SHELL 131 for the thermal analysis (T.A.) then I use ETCHG, TTS for the structural analysis (S.A.).Then, i apply the temperatures obtained from the T.A. as loads in the S.A. using: LDREAD...
For example, Ansys evaluates the temperature (loads) at each point of integration of the structural element (SHELL 181) then assign to him the corresponding value of EX which he finds in the table: MPTEMP and MPDATA, EX, 1, 1..... and after that he evaluate stresses…
In my program, i have two types of materials ( MPTEMP, MPDATA,EX,1,1, & MPTEMP, MPDATA,EX,2,1,). So i would like to be able to know the temperature of each integration point, at each step, then according to the value of this temperature I assign at this point of integration material 1 or 2 .
I do not know how can i do that!!!
