Hi All
For some reason i am not getting the Surface Area properties from the Tools--->Query. I have created a simple 0.1 x 0.1 x 0.1 cube. When I click on the Mass properties, I can only get
Mass properties:
Volume: 0.00100
Volume centroid: -0.01000,0.01000,0.0500
Mass: 7.70
Center of mass: -0.01000,0.01000,0.0500
Moment of inertia about the center of mass (Ixx, Iyy, Izz, Ixy, Iyz, Izx): 0.0128,0.0128,0.0128,-1.08e-019,4.34e-019,-4.34e-019

Tried both 'Query entire part' and 'Select geometric regions' but they dont allow me to select the individual faces. Tried making sets and surfaces but still the viewport selects the whole model. Can please someone correct me what i am doing wrong. How can I get the Surface Area?

When you've selected 'Select geometric regions', check the selection filter to toggle on 'Faces'.

Hi Mustaine

Thank you for your answer. When i go to the 'Select geometric regions', i cannot see any other options to allow me to select or toggle to faces. I know they used to be in the previous versions of abaqus, but i cannot see them in Abaqus 6.14. Pleae have a look at the picture.
Any suggestions please?

Regards

Sorry, but attachements are blocked here.

The Selection Filter is a Toolbar, which offers options when the user needs to select something. See CAE Manual 6.3.1 Overview of the selection options. There is an image of the toolbar.

When you've selected 'Select geometric regions', then this toolbar gets active. The pull-down menu here shows "Regions" at the beginning. Switch to "Faces". Afterwards you can select a face.

Thanks Mustaine. I have sorted it. Really appreciated your help.
