The job I am working on , specifications says tube fittings shall be rated for 9000#. I tried to find out 9000# rating corresponds to what pressure in psig/bar. Is there any standard for this where I can find the Table? Thanks.
9000# is ometimes referred to as 9000 lb, but officially is class 9000 according to ASME B 16.11.
As such it is a class rating, and depends on temeprature and material to get a psi rating, wall thickness etc. It is basically that in psi at temperature below 38C, so 9000 psig (620 bar).
It is a pretty high pressure rating - I've normally only come accross 3000 and occasionally 6000.
