3D Excavation

Hi all,

Currently I am working on a 3D geotechnical model which involved excavation.
I created 2 part, a) non excavated soil and b)excavate soil.
During the excavation, I am using 2 step. Step1 the interaction was surface to surface and tie constraint to connect both part. Step 2 model change by set region as geometry assign to the excavate soil body. However the excavation connected to 3 faces of the soil body so I applied the interaction for these 3 faces but yet i still cant observe any excavation made.

Can help me on this? Thank in advance

I remember seeing a digger example when Abaqus was first rolling out CEL (Coupled Eulerian-Lagrangian). I hope this helps.
