3D dimensions

I'm working in Civil 3d Land Desktop Companion 2008. I'm trying to dimension a solid in model space in the left view. I can't get the dimension to show up in that view only in the top view and its not the correct dimension? How do I fix this?

which kind of dimensions. ACAD-dims?
The AEC-dims of ADT are only visible in the topview.

Acad dims will show up in the XY plane of the current UCS.
