I have a piece of equipment I'm trying to repair and it uses 2mm flat cable (i.e. ribbon cable) with four conductors. I see Molex used to make some (24463, 24473) but it is obsolete. Does anybody know who is current manufacturing ribbon with 2mm pitch? I haven't measured it but I'll guess it is 26 AWG.

Thanks,

I'm stunned... both Digi-Key and Mouser are out of stock. I had no idea this was no longer a stocked item.

Any way you can change the connectors used so a standard .1" cable can be used? Have you tried the regional Molex rep to see if he has a few feet lying around?

No luck with Molex, but they are still checking...

I know somebody makes this stuff, because I see it used all over my son's Lego toys. Oh well, I might just have to replace it with individual wires and lose the 'pretty' factor. Or I could buy some new Lego to scavenge...

Wait, are you talking about the paper-thin stuff (polyimide), like what's used on notebook/cellphone fliptops? If so, try Parlex... they make a lot of stuff like that (and should also be in stock at Digi-Key).

No, it looks just like standard 0.1" (0.05") ribbon cable, only on 2mm spacing and black color.

That's a 2mm pitch dual row connector using 1mm ribbon.
