Cathodic Protection Cable Cutting

We are working in piling work , where a system of Cathodic Protection is there, during the operation of pile head cutting accidently a cable (type of cable is FOC- Fiber optics cable- that is measuring the resistivity ) has been broken ( cable cut) , what would be the best practice to solve this issue.

Repair the cable?

An FOC is not a CP cable.

Splice the optical fiber?

You'll need to find someone who is well practiced as you may not get many chances.
