We are supplying some portable equipment to Hong Kong for use in the New Territories.

Our problem is that we have to supply a 400V 160A 3Ø power plug for it and we are having trouble finding out what plug type is required for China.

Is there an international standard for plugs of this size?

We can get this size plug here in Australia, but don't want to send the wrong type.

(I suspect the customer has not yet fitted outlets in their plant and so cannot answer our question)

Thanks BJC, but that site is only information on domestic plugs. I am looking at conductors as thick as your thumb and a cable as thick as your wrist

You need to make sure that the combination of the plug and receptacle is of the "Dead Front Interlocked" type. This combination will permit the user to safely unplug the portable equipment.

I don't think there are any standards in this size range. Each mfg. semms to do their own thing.
