Hello,, can you respond to a query to define the meaning behind "unprotected openings' as it relates to an older school building application. The school currently is not sprinkled..

An opening that is not protected by a smoke-resistant or fire-resistant assembly (e.g., door, damper, through penetration fire stop assembly) is an unprotected opening.
