I was searching for this and found an old thread here. Due to work circumstances I haven't been on this site for years, but my work situation changed. Anyway, I found this old thread in a Google search!

My question is this. I've run into the 0.45 power curve in several subjects including here, in hydrology, and others. What is the physical science basis for this, other than empirical?

Thanks, and it's good to be back!
