Thanks Enginerd9 - Design Tables seems to be the way to go
KENAT yes already have, its with a lot of cross users theses days I thought that someone with experience of both might be able to point me in the right direction
Thanks Scott, today I set up a part and assembly template and linked the custom properties with the tab builder, seems to works fine, as you rightly pointed out SW and SE are not the same and it's a matter of testing and trying different methods to find a good workflow
Cheers

Hi All,
I'm using ST3 MP2 is there anyway to import point cloud data from a xyz file?
I believe SW has this ability but I cannot find anything for SE ST3.
Are there any reliable addins/plugins that give SE this ability?
Cheers
Hi,
I'm not aware of any quick method. i.e. without opening the PSM and selecting the up surface and XY point.
I would think it was possible with a VB add-on, but I'm not aware of any that are commercially available free or otherwise.
Although Sheet Metal is a large part of SE and IMHO is...
Revision Manager is a great tool, but just a little dated. I use it almost daily.
Kenat, you are definitely on the button. MCAD software suppliers do have a bigger picture...........SE is a small part of the Siemens group.
It's called putting a little salt on the bread........just enough...
Hi All,
Can somebody who is using ST2 Traditional Sheet Metal. Check for the hem command location.
Help states: Home tab?Sheet Metal group?Bends.
But mine not there!
I can easily access it through the quick access toolbar, but cannot find it in the ribbon bar system.
Hi Beachcomber,
Yes, I have 3 current projects on the go. 2 small ones of approx 300 parts per assembly and one largish with 15 sub-assemblies each contain 75 parts.
It was set up and running within 10 minutes. It took about an hour to get used to the commands and buttons.
I loaded all 3...

Its good to see that someone is thinking of the standalone SE users for a change. Does exactly what it says on the box and fast. Price is very good too.
Oh well!
In the end I went back to my old tried and tested method.
I create a master generic sketch profile with all the combinations. The actual profile has a lot more to it than the basic ones I sent through.
I then create a generic assembly sketch of a frame, with new reference planes at...
Thanks Ken,
I haven't tried this out yet, but I think I messed up with the profiles J6 should have been J2 which is very similar except there is no outer upstand.
There is no reason why the method shouldn't work for J2 also
Thanks
