    layoffs

I accepted a new job in late september. I had two months notice. One week before my first day at the new job the company said they have to let 100 people go. They also said they will invest in development, so I actually think, and have been hinted, I won´t have to go.

    Realview Issue at Assembly Level

FX1700 driver 6.14.11.6926. I have seen that it´s not an approved driver. As I said in my first post i suspect the driver, just haven´t taken the time to install the older driver. I have a Dell so I guess i chould use the Dell approved driver 6.14.11.6956 or 6.14.11.6255. I will try to update...

    Realview Issue at Assembly Level

Nah, If I do it like you say I get the correct appearance in the part and assembly. If I then close the part and assembly somtimes i get the correct appearance when I open it again, somtimes i don´t. Sometimes if the part is in a subassembly and I open the part from the top assembly it looses...

    Realview Issue at Assembly Level

I have the same problems as you I think. Sometimes the parts display correctly at assembly level, sometimes not. Also one part can display correcttly at the same time as another one don´t. I have almost an identical computer as you, FX1700, SW sp4.0 but XP32. I suspect the graphic card driver...

Chevy Volt - How's it work?

Why no turbo? Then they could have reduced the size even more. 0.6 liters would not be unrealistic, right?

'Educated' opinions on climate change part 2

"2 billion Indian and Chinese people are very keen to get both wheels and air conditioning" No, they want what we have. If the western world manage to live life with a lesser impact on the environment alot will be gained when the asians start to spend some real cash.

At least in 2008 you set this in the print dialog. I haven´t tried 2009 so I could not say anything about that.

    Is SW2008 a Memory Hog?

There are some graphicscards, not ceritified, like the ATI radeon series, that is only supporting a limited number of open windows at the same time. Just stabbing in the dark, but...

    Bolts vs Screws

I can share the swedish definition if someone is interested. We define a bolt as a screw without any threads. A screw is everything else. Still many people name screws as bolts, mostly when the screw is of a large dimension.

Gas/Hybrid, Diesel, Diesel/Hybrid, Fuel Cell - where will it end?

Play with the idea that every car would be electrically driven. If we would generate all this energy with fossil fueled power plants, would we still be consuming less oil than burning it in the engine of the car? As I see it we don´t have to distribute the petrol by trucks. We also can get...

    3D Softwear for Engine Fit-Up

I work in the genset industry. 3D-Models of industrial engines from perkins, Deutz etc. are usually available by request. The quality of the model and the ease of getting one varies greatly between the companies. I would say Deutz is outstanding in this regard. Good models and good service. It...

Using shell mesh for thin parts

When you define your contact set I think you have to select the edge of the surface that you picked when defining the shell. You can not pick a surface that isn´t defined as a shell.
