    Mid-Line Dimension

Ah, that was my error/lack of knowledge. I had the center datum as a reference, and was trying to do that click sequence method on the datum. I went ahead and put in a centerline on the datum and it worked as expected. And, yeah, I've used it for revolves, too. Just I was doing a connector...

    Mid-Line Dimension

    Can you make a full width dimension using a center datum? This is what I have in ProE __________|_________ | | | | | |___ | | | | | ___| |_________|_________| | |----1.0------| versus...

    Help with Surface Colors

I like to have my models look like the finished product, including the paint with appropriate keep-outs. In Solidworks you can make a "split line" which splits a surface/face, such that you can grab outside the split line and it acts as a separate surface than inside the split line. Then you...

    Pro-E part exported into SW2008

I've had ti work (opening a ProE file in SW). What I noticed is issues with features that SW itself doesn't create, obviously, or how SW creates compared to ProE. Case in point, using multiple sets for fillets in ProE will not come across. I'd imagine some patterns and such wouldn't come...

Pro/E or Wildfire on Windows 7

I'd try if I had a home use license. No way could I load Win7 on my work laptop. I'd be interested, too, though.

    3D Connexion Filters in ProE

Thanks, I didn't know that was there, but it seems you set the preferences to then work with the dynamic reorientation of the model with the sliders, etc. Could be useful if really need to focus on an edge, etc, but does not appear to cause anything on the SpaceExplorer. I can't find anything...

    3D Connexion Filters in ProE

Thanks Jeff, I playewd around and noticed that a bit later. As I mentioned I saw it happen sometimes, so, yep, in WF3 You have to MMB and drag to start it. Kind of silly if just want to rotate about the center of the screen. But decent enough to get a rotation center on a vertex, maybe even...

    3D Connexion Filters in ProE

One thing I really liked about the space mouse in SolidWorks was the ability to filter rotation around a vertex, or axis. That functionality doesn't seem to exist in ProE and I can't find a way to put in teh toolbar like one that exists in SW and I can't find anything in ProE config file for any...

Hole Table Multiple Letters same size hole

Yep in drawing document properties can change the length tol to 4 decimals, then it recognizes it. Then can change the display to 3 decimals. Just a few extra steps, but much easier than picking edges! Thanks!

Hole Table Multiple Letters same size hole

OK, it worked if I was in 2 decimals/3 decimals and then I knocked the table down to two. Will have to fool around to show 3, but have it recognize the holes as different. When I made depths of .300, .3001 and .3002 they all came in as the same letter/size. When made .300, .301, .302 they...

Hole Table Multiple Letters same size hole

    1) this doesn't seem to work. I loved the idea. 2) any ideas about a thru hole? I'm using 2009 right now. I'll try out 08.

Hole Table Multiple Letters same size hole

Oh, and another thing, if you use a through hole you are "scr-wed" There aren't any extra edges to grab.

Hole Table Multiple Letters same size hole

OK, making 4 patterns of 6-32 holes. (Luckily in this case they were blind holes.) The piece part was a test fixture and we wanted those 4 patterns to have different letters, and we put lines to connect them on the face to more clearly define the groupings. The groupings were to show how each...

    Hole Wizard

All the other stuff is well and good, but we've not used the toolbox quite yet, just have put parts in the library and made custom parts, but I'm considering using the toolbox. But to the main point, I've copied the entire directory to a network drive, but when I go into the options and...

    Hole Wizard

From what I recall looking at help it mentions some sort of reinstallation and changing the location of the files then. That did not seem to work for me. I can keep trying, but I was looking for a simpler method.

    Hole Wizard

So, anyway to create a new location for the hole wizard/toolbox items? I can go in and configure, but since we configured on our standalone machines it is not useful for consistent use among our group. I'd like to put everything on a network drive. If you browse to a new folder it just says...

    SW2007 Section Location Reverence

Thanks, but by symbols, if you mean the blocks, yeah, I already got that set, if you mean the bubbles/triangle type symbols and making own, with an interface to put in text with a form instead of editing the block, that'd be very beneficial. I'll do a search, thanks!

    SW2007 Section Location Reverence

If anyone has any other ideas, that'd be great, but for now I went ahead and made a block.

    SW2007 Section Location Reverence

OK, in some places I've seen a box something like to show where a section is located and to back-reference where the section is cut (similar with detail views): ------- 2 | /| | E / | | / | | / 3 | |/ | ------- Is there a way to make this as a symbol in solidworks, would I have to...

    Changing Drawing References

You have a good weekend, too...However, have you tried just making a test case? Try something similar, but with new, fakely made parts, just to test it? Could be something in the file you're using itself, i.e. references it just can't break/figure out.
