Have you checked the seal between the inlet manifold and the rear cylinder?
Had a similar situation on my Pan checked everything to no avail....... cause was an air leak into the rear cylinder from the inlet manifold.
Maybe worth a try.
Sorry Swall, I expected this to be a reasonably straight-forward request but I am grateful of your reply.
To CoryPad, I'm fully aware of the requirements for Tensile Testing, however we are faced with 7 tons of Clad sheet without any testing being done prior to the cladding.
Stangely enough...
Thanks for the info so far.
To give you an insight as to why I need the tensile strength of 4045;
I working on a unit that has 4045/3003/4045 clad plate involved.
In order to qualify the plate for use in a CatIV pressure vessel I need to do Tensile tests on the Pre-Braze material and I need...
Hi Guys
I'm struggling to find and published data on Aluminium AA4045
I specifically need the Tensile strength figures, can anyone assist?
Thanks in anticipation of your help.
Thanks for all the help so far, I've managed to grab a few contacts from your suggestions.
Unfortunately I do have to insist on the ASME Quals it would be awkward for me to explain why at this moment but if I could have avoided it I would have done.
We are currently in the design phase of a Heat Exchanger / Pressure Vessel.
The unit features Brazed Aluminium Plate & Bar Heat Exchangers.
We have dealt with a number of manufacturers but none of them are willing to comply with the ASME IX requirements for Brazing.
Does anyone know of a...
I've built small Oil cooler stacks with Acetal baffles with no problems.
I've also used Nylon 66 for tubeplates for a hydraulic oil cooler, with the tube glued into the plate.
But you do need to check compatibilty and temperature limits with most non-metallic materials.
I need to prove, from an acreditted source that Aluminium in 5454, 3003, and 4045 Alloys are compatible to use with N-Hexane in both Gas and Liquid states.
Can anyone give me any pointers where to start looking?
We build a small Heat Exchanger with a number of variations that is used to heat Vegetable oil or reclaimed veg oil using the hot water from the vehicle coolant hoses.
One of our customers has a neat control system that only allows veg oil into the fuel system when it is hot enough and also...
I'm looking for a vendor of Extruded Copper tubes with internal vanes or dividers.
The tubes are around 5/8" outside diameter with a 5 legged divider, slicing the bore of the tube into Pie like segments.
I used to use a company called Turbex in California but I can't find them any more.
Any...
From my (25 year ago) recollections, both chocolate and toffee would benefit from this type of exchanger.
I used to work for a large Confectionary company in the United Kingdom, whilst doing my apprenticship one of the regular chores was stripping and rebuilding the scraped surface exchangers...
We have a production job to drill multiple holes in a closed box section component.
I need to countersink the inside of the box section to remove any burrs etc caused by the drilling operation.
We have tried the conventional manual internal deburrers.
I am sure that I have seen a gadget that...
The fins look too small to me to be that efficient and the route for the air flow looks a bit to tortuous to be "Pressure drop" thrifty.
Take a look at Titan-lite.com
Extremely accurate, with the benefit of filling the hole unlike the cylindrical units from Laminova.
We use Flowdrill, with a fair amount of descussion and further experimentation we have reduced speeds quite considerably, it's worth trying.
Have you tried rivnuts?
