When i teach MSS, I always show this thing with replacing the closing point. The closing point in a sketch is where you start drawing your profile, and sincne we usually sketch more or less in the same manner this is very seldom a problem. But see what happens when a left-handed person sketch...
Well, when your designer redo the work in R18, it will be a very fast redesign...
Has anyone tried cut/copy and paste between different Catia versions running in parallel? I'll try...
Hi all,
does anyone know how to start a positioned sketch with customized defaults for origin and axes, eg if I select XY-plane, I'll automatically get Part origin and X Axis?
Best regards
O!
I've set read-only attribute to DynLicensing.CATSettings and that works fine. At least in earlier versions, the licenses wasn't dropped att session end, I'm not sure if they are dropped at session end now.

We've seen it when sectioning very large assemblies and where there is one part covering everything. Also had problems sectioning a view with a complex surface model within.
I'm not sure where the problem is but probably Catia memeory management and/or Windows memory limitation.
There's three...

I've spent the last three hours trying to figure out how to get a progress bar while updating the sheets of a drawing and I can't find a word about it, neither in CATIA VBA nor in VBA documentation. Any ideas?

Have you tried setting the Tools-Options-Infrastructure-Part Infrastructure-Keepl link with selected object option?
While you're there, deselct the Only use published elements... option or publish the assembly parameter.

...directory, you can add a line in your environment file so Catia will read the backup directory first, then your user directory. When later the S**T hits the fan, you jjust delete the user catsettings directory and everything is back to whatever you consider normal ;-)
The file you need to...
Up to R12 you may use the copy-and-paste trick with the exception that you use Paste Special and select As Result (I think). This will copy the bodies in their right location to the Part. The one problem I found is that if a part is used more than once only the last selected will contribute to...
He want the text to stick out from the bell radially and then 3D print it. I guess it's a x-mas present...
The soultion for now is to create the text as a pad up to surface (bell) ant then split it with an offset surface from the bell. Looks rather pretty but not exactly what he wanted.

I wouldn't recommend anyone to work on anything less than sp3. I also got the message from a very god source that anything less than sp5 on R11 shouldn't be used. Do install R11sp5 a.s.a.p. and wait for at least sp3 for R12 before doing any serious work on it.

Hi Pechkit,
I've done more or less the same with a building. First of all, I've modelled each floor in a separate body in one part. I created two planes in each direction and use parameters to constrol them. Then I've created splits at each plane in each body using parameters to control their...
Hi,
To start from the bottom, yes you can see the correct assembly in preview because that information is stored within the assembly file.
The other two questions is actually the same problem. In tools-option-general-document, you can tell Catia where to look for files. In an assembly, the path...
The trouble with that methodology is that parts that hide other parts will still hide those parts even if they are deactivated in Overload Properties.
Another way of doing it is to select the ISO view in drafting, in assembly multiselect the parts you want to see in the tree before clicking the...
I would try to copy the surface and then paste it in another OpenBody As Result. after that I would throw away the original surface.
Try it and good luck
