Thanks electricuwe and Clyde38.
Yes, in the finite element analysis simulation, especially in the transient mode simulation, the coreloss calculation is based on the object element, therefore the common equation can not be directly used.
In this time I decided to use the low frequency coreloss...
Hi electricuwe and all
Thank you for suggestion. Now, I am doing with that.
For every frequency, I got one set of coefficients. So that, the coefficients now become variables.
Perhaps, I have to separate those coefficients into a low frequency and a high frequency ranges. It is assumed that in...
They give us only the BH-curve and core-loss profiles for some frequencies. In the transient analysis used in the FEA simulation, all three coefficients are required, instead of the loss profile. In addition, the transient simulation does not involve the frequency.
Thanks for response :)
Hi All,
I am working in a design of permanent machines. I use FEA program. In the core losses calculation, the program needs the hysteresis, eddy current and excess coefficients.
The core is silicon steel lamination 50H470 from Nippon steel.
Is there anybody knows values of those coefficients or...
Hi All,
I use Ansoft Maxwell program for my electrical generator project design. I face a problem in transient simulation.
Is there anybody use this program?

Hi Mike and Ron,
I am working in the permanent magnet generator design.
I faced a problem in flux fringing. Utilizing the low permeability material as additional component, I hope it will solve the problem. The high permeability material will disturb the main flux.
Thanks for your suggestion...
Hi All,
I am looking for a magnetic material having a low relative permeability in the range of 10-100. I had search in the site, but no one I found.
Would you help me?

Hi Prex,
Thank's for your help.
The further problem is if we have to find A for a given B.
In some 2D software, the A calculation is featured, but not in it's 3D.

Hi All ...
We usually use Magnetic Vector Potential A to calculate back emf of a coil in a permanent magnet machine. Unfortunately, in some FEA software, especially 3D, parameter calculated by default is B and H.
Would anybody help me? I need a equation to derive A from other parameter (B or H...
I use ANSYS, Maxwell and FEMM in our project.
ANSYS is very very good, has very complete fascilities (libraries), but it is very complicated. For example, it has more than 150 element types. It is almost not like a tool, because everything should be defined by user. So, it is not a user-friendly...
Hi All,
I am an Ansoft Maxwell 2D user. I change my model to 3D using Maxwell 3D. There many different things in 3D.
I face a problmem in "moving" an object. In 2D, I use "contsraint" fascility.
In 3D, I define parameters, but these parameters do not appear in Setup Solution/Variable. So, I can...
Every time we overlap areas or volumes, the number of areas or volumes will be changed.
How to keep areas or volumes number so we can easily identify it especially in the batch mode?
I got the similar problem with mu-r. The conclusion are:
- The BH curve must has the mu-r equal or greater 1
- Do not fill the mu-r with 0, just leave blank
