Hi All ...

We usually use Magnetic Vector Potential A to calculate back emf of a coil in a permanent magnet machine. Unfortunately, in some FEA software, especially 3D, parameter calculated by default is B and H.
Would anybody help me? I need a equation to derive A from other parameter (B or H, or others).
Many thank's

The relationship between B and A is
B=[∇] [×] A
or
Bx=[∂]Ay/[∂]z-[∂]Az/[∂]y
and so on.
Not very practical to transform...

Hi Prex,

Thank's for your help.
The further problem is if we have to find A for a given B.
In some 2D software, the A calculation is featured, but not in it's 3D.
