I’m working with our software gurus to develop a nice looking GUI for one of our products. I’ve designed the interface, and modeled it 1:1. It looks great btw! (the actual pixels I need are 1024x750)
I’ve set up all the parameters the way I want the piece to look, and set the scene with a black...
I still have problems with 'user defined' materials. The scale seems way off, and once I make adjustments, the realism just isn’t there. Do any of you have a direct source for materials, or some 'trickery' that I’m not aware of to make the brushed aluminum very realistic?
What are the steps you...
Before? Yes a Dialog box will open and ask If Id like to translate. WoW Thanks SWX... that worked *really* good! [thumbsdown]
The problem is that some were custom! ((sigh))

Whats the story with the material translation?
Ive tried to open a few fully rendered models and the materials are totally jacked! (Its a brushed aluminum material)
If I go back to SW03, and open the file its fine...
Hmmm....
Any ideas?
My two biggest gripes are the decal editor, and the material selections. The lighting sucks too..but hey :0)
We design and Mfg pro-audio devices that mount in a rack.
On the back of the slightly 'textured' sheet metal enclosure is a silkscreen that needs to be accurately placed.
To his day...
I can’t get a straight answer from my VAR about PW2. We all know PW1 sucked. Is version 2 much better? I’m about to spend a couple grand to update this seat of SWX (currently 03 still, haven’t upgraded due to economic trends)
I’ve been using SWX since conception (’94..WoW!), and have no issues...
Ah! so that's where you're getting the 'keystone' from... The shape of that jack is shaped as such, and snaps into a premade wall plate.
Have you seen oe used ethercon connectors? Neutrik makes one that will work, is chassis mountable and even color coded if you wish.
Do a search for ethercon...
Eee gad! living hinges!
You may want to re-think that option. How long do they really live? ;) <--- not long me thinks, regardless of the material, or weather the operator tweaked the part straight out of the mold.
I also exhausted my search on the net for 1, 2 & 3 gang boxes to no avail. I guess the carpenters theory of 'give-or-take a 1/4" is good enough for them. ;)
If anyone has any further information... it would be greatly appreciated!
In the mean time, if I find more info. Ill be sure to...
I dunno... most mfg's will specify the opening anyway. If not, I order samples and make my own ;) (we all know how accurate those spec sheets are to mech designers guys...NOT!)
Post the information you've seen. Then, maybe I can get an idea of what you're talking about.
