    rotatign mechanism suggestion

Let's try this again , let's establish axis., y, x , and z. Z would be direction of the axis. Axis w would be rotating of the entire part. Are want to rotate ot move in the z axis?

    Turning 316L breaking inserts

4 jaw chucks are great, if in good condition. Each jaw can move independently. There fore adjust and true up the casting. Inside collet really depends the length and diameter size of the part. Hope fully they are boring and facing simultaneously. This will true up to each other. If there is an...

    Oil flange redesign

There is no added value to redesign existing flanges. And the reason is as posted by above of all post. This is standard reliable practice. Stick to what works and not deviate.

Holding castings are a pita. What of part and geometry? Fixture ,chuck , or ?

Gap in a feature of size

Really making this more complicated than it needs to be. My recommendation is to dimension the slot Width x depth , 8x equally spaced and be done with it, and dimension to assemble. You could depict true position xxx 8x Equally spaced

    Pressure balanced axial bellows

I was puzzled. The intent of a bellows is to allow moment. I worked with lox fuel lines on the atlas centaur. And the reason for the bellows was to have slight movement from vibration, Prevent failure from cracking the joints. So I was confused why the bolts. Little inch cleared that up.

    What type of Corrosion

Use combination of ultrasonic inspection device. Measure the wall thickness, in the surrounding area not having corrosion. Take hand grinder remove one small area with deep corrosion. Measure with pin depth mic . Inspect the difference. Then decide

Is there a preferred true position standard?

Here are some standard practices. Depending on the type of manufacturing. For machined parts guide Standard internal radii .015-.040 R Standard edge break .005-.025 Standard linear dimensions ÷/-.005, ÷/-.010 +/-.020. Reason is tolerance stack up. During manufacturing to achieve final drawing...

    Tapped axial holes on tube

I believe a 3D stress analysis would be helpful. As Well. There will be a cone around the bolt head, except for a partial section.

Is there a preferred true position standard?

I agree with Dave's and your thoughts on AI. But not all books all equally. I could make a spread sheet from 45 years of experience as a guide. How ever it would be obsolete in short Time. When I started. I used manual machines. Manual engine lathe, manual turret lathe, Hand operated OD and ID...

    Steel Exposed to Fire

Well he could have said that instead of attacking me. This was actually observation fron actual homes destroyed in that fire. 100% of those homes failed is a fact. Not some theory. That was why I made that comment. Actual observed failed concrete. Now I am ready to move on . End of discussion.
