    Inventor hardware requirements vs others

mcgyvr, Performance issues can be caused for a number of reasons. For example these guys were saying they needed 64 bit systems but we found out they didn't even have a graphics card installed in their computers, did not have the memory maxed and were not taking advantage of the 3GB switch...

    Inventor hardware requirements vs others

Thank you Ken, Very helpful information. Does everything you say hold true for Inventor 2009? David

    Inventor hardware requirements vs others

Need help from you Inventor users. We just added a small company who has a few seats of Inventor. They are asking for 64 bit computers but from my experience this is complete overkill for their work. No rendering, analysis, small assemblies. However, they complain of performance issues...

How can I have 1:1 print?

Is your geometry bigger than your sheet size? If so, change the sheet size under File-Sheet Setup so that it is larger than the geometry. Then print Active Sheet and make sure your printer paper size matches the Solid Edge sheet size.

    PMI

Any chance you added the callouts after initially creating the Model View. If so, you would have to update your model view to include the callouts.

    Using Revision Manager

Beachcomber is correct. Use a different delimiter to signify the revision and you will save yourself a lot of headache.

So what's this new release all about then?

Short posting from the SE newsgroup The technology is significantly different. SpaceClaim for example uses ACIS and doesn't have a constraint solving engine. Synchronous Technology is actually a layer (shared by NX and SE and not available externally) built upon D-Cubed and Parasolid and both...

    3D mouse

I use a SpacePilot. Once you get used to controlling the motions these 3D navigators are hard to live without. Just be patient while you tweak the setting and get used to the controls. As time went on I kept increasing the sensitivity. I would agree with beachcomber. If you can afford the...

So what's this new release all about then?

Don't know but it's been very hush hush. I've seen phrases like "biggest release since V1" thrown out by UGS employees. Whatever it is they've done a good job of keeping it a secret.

Make one part dependent of another (link)

Raptor, Then something is wrong or you and I are using different terminology. Inserting a Part Copy would have nothing to do with linking variables. When I say "linking variables" I'm referring to the following steps: 1. Open both files 2. Open the variable table in Part 1, select the...

Make one part dependent of another (link)

Raptor, You've confused me a little. Are you linking variables in the variable table or are you linking geometry to the Part Copy? If you can post a pic of the child part with the Part Copy in it. I fear you may be making this more difficult than necessary.

Make one part dependent of another (link)

Raptor, Sound like your on the right track. What happens if you open the child bar and click on Update links in the upper tool bar? It could be that you have the parts to only update manually. Another thing to check. If you link via variables you should be able to open the child part and...

    Variable Table Help

Right Click on the feature in the Edgebar and choose Add Supression Variable. To see it in your variable table set the table filter to dipslay BOTH Dimensions and User Variables named by the user.

Mating edge to face? Mating edge to sketch line?

You can use the Parallel Assy relation to make a part edge and sketch line colinear. David
