mcgyvr,
Performance issues can be caused for a number of reasons. For example these guys were saying they needed 64 bit systems but we found out they didn't even have a graphics card installed in their computers, did not have the memory maxed and were not taking advantage of the 3GB switch...
Need help from you Inventor users. We just added a small company who has a few seats of Inventor. They are asking for 64 bit computers but from my experience this is complete overkill for their work. No rendering, analysis, small assemblies. However, they complain of performance issues...
Is your geometry bigger than your sheet size? If so, change the sheet size under File-Sheet Setup so that it is larger than the geometry. Then print Active Sheet and make sure your printer paper size matches the Solid Edge sheet size.
Short posting from the SE newsgroup
The technology is significantly different. SpaceClaim for example uses ACIS and doesn't have a constraint solving engine. Synchronous Technology is actually a layer (shared by NX and SE and not available externally) built upon D-Cubed and Parasolid and both...
I use a SpacePilot. Once you get used to controlling the motions these 3D navigators are hard to live without. Just be patient while you tweak the setting and get used to the controls. As time went on I kept increasing the sensitivity.
I would agree with beachcomber. If you can afford the...
Don't know but it's been very hush hush. I've seen phrases like "biggest release since V1" thrown out by UGS employees. Whatever it is they've done a good job of keeping it a secret.
Raptor,
Then something is wrong or you and I are using different terminology. Inserting a Part Copy would have nothing to do with linking variables.
When I say "linking variables" I'm referring to the following steps:
1. Open both files
2. Open the variable table in Part 1, select the...
Raptor,
You've confused me a little. Are you linking variables in the variable table or are you linking geometry to the Part Copy?
If you can post a pic of the child part with the Part Copy in it. I fear you may be making this more difficult than necessary.
Raptor,
Sound like your on the right track. What happens if you open the child bar and click on Update links in the upper tool bar? It could be that you have the parts to only update manually.
Another thing to check. If you link via variables you should be able to open the child part and...
Right Click on the feature in the Edgebar and choose Add Supression Variable. To see it in your variable table set the table filter to dipslay BOTH Dimensions and User Variables named by the user.
Create a new line style using Format-Style. Choose Line from the Style Type drop down then click New. Define a new style with a line width of at least 2mm. Open the Display Properties window and select the Center of Mass from the Parts List tree. With Center of Mass select only change the...
m4rc,
Why do you need to reorient the part relative to the base planes? Maybe there is another solution to the bigger issue.
Not being able to reorient as you suggest is important. If users could simply reorient parts then you could wreck havoc on assembly relationships. A large number of...
"And the way you show in your earlier post (show ref-axis), doesn't work."
Make sure you are selecting the correct commands. DO NOT use Tools-Show All-Reference Axes. Instead use Tools-Show All-Toggle Axes. Then click on a cylindrical surface. If ouu do it correctly a Ref Axes feature should...
"I've never used a ref-axis in 10 years of SolidEdge.
Has anyone else?"
In the past I didn't use them because I could not figure out how to turn them on. Instead I would create a sketch in the part. Now that I know how to activate Ref Axes I use them more often.
