Can't reproduce in other assemblies, but it is consistent in this assembly. Oh well, I can get away with creating the plane in the part.

I ended up using the one in the part, but am more curious as to why the one in the assembly didn't work. Was just wondering if anyone had run into a similar situation.

Created one plane that is at an angle of 15 degrees from the front plane. Then selected this new plane, and selected the cylindrical surface. The plane is created offset from the surface.

No, there's a definite offset ~7/8". This is a plane created in an assembly. If I create the plane in the actual part, everything works as expected.

I'm trying to create a plane on a cylindrical surface. I know, pretty straight forward. However, the plan is created offset from the surface, and I cannot determine why. Has anyone run into something like this before? Using SW2005.
