How do you run a VBA application in Creo

I would like to test some sample vb api examples that Creo provides. What would be the procedure to run them? Also is there a way to add them to customize the menuscript to run them as a pre or post action?

Is there a drafting standard that (doesn't) allow multiple parts with the same part number

Hi, There was an issue at our manufacturing facility. We received a print of an assembled component made up of 5 parts. 2 of those parts had the same part number (component 14) but were different parts and not interchangeable. As a result twice as many of one part were made and none of the...

    Stress relieving 304 stainless questions

The plate is usually around .08 out of flat. I think these plates were pressed flat, but I don't see that clearly labeled in the cert. While machining they encounter interrupted cuts because they do not want to take more than .050" Depth of cut. Do you think the interrupted cuts are causing...

    Stress relieving 304 stainless questions

The supplier certified the material to the asme sa 240 specification, but I do not have the spec to know what that means or if cooling rate is requirement. while machining, the plate is well supported in the center. When it is inspected It is placed on beams so the forklift can get under it. I...

    Stress relieving 304 stainless questions

How many steps are using in the machining? - currently 3 processes. Machining the face and OD. Flipping it, then Machining the face and OD. Then flip it back over to the original side and skim cut it. Is this coming from round or plate? -From what I understand it is plate that has been flame...

    Stress relieving 304 stainless questions

I am having a lot of difficulty machining a 2" x 80" diameter piece of stainless steel on a lathe and keeping it flat. I need to machine the part flat within .03" and so far the best attempt was .04" and the worst was about .08". The part is measuring within .008" flatness when clamped in a...

Need help in journal that identify assembly components that are "familly members components&quo

I am not familiar with "thisComp.Prototype.OwningPart". I tried replacing myPart.Tag with dispPart.tag and it ran. You will need another way of defining how you get the tag from your components. I would probably open each component in the assembly and use workPart.tag. There should be a better...

making part name "1234567" into "12345 67" using EXPRESSION FUNCTIONS

That is some terrific information on expressions. I think some of those functions are undocumented in NX.

NX Drafting Section Label A1-A2 possible?

I am pretty sure they have to be the same name. If you want some associativity then you can name it section A. Then for the letter near the section line you can associate a note with the number "1" or "2" next to it. Therefore when the view moves, the numbers move with it. Then in the actual...

    Recomended Graphic Card For NX10

I am happy running NX on my 7 year old 1gb ati radeon. I had more problems at work with newer approved Quattro cards that cost over 800$ each.

    NX CAM - machine simulation

This would be a good place to start http://community.plm.automation.siemens.com/t5/Tech-Tips-Knowledge-Base-NX/tkb-p/open_forum_1%40tkb/label-name/machine%20tool%20simulation?labels=machine+tool+simulation also there is a pdf in your c drive in the mach directory. I think sample folder, but not...

Male Threads (simplified) in part families

I believe there are other parameters you have to change as well. such as major diameter, pitch, minor diameter and shaft size. I looked at the UN/UNJ thread data and used the equations to make my own threads. The NX threads are nominal and have no use to the manufacturing world.

Variations on a Theme (a.k.a Family of Parts) vs Part Families

I think when they mention "Part Families" they mean going to tools->Part Families to create a spreadsheet to create other files. The term "Family of parts" in industry just means a style of parts that are pretty similar to each other.

    Display Chuck in Manufacturing Turning?

I like the above persons advice better, but I am sure making a deformable component is another option.

Part Family - Adding columns to already existing Family

I read in the "what's new in NX10" file that they added the feature to re-arrange part family columns. Until then you have to delete your columns and then start adding them back in.
