    Dimensions not showing in Part

Sketch dimensions in V15, I place in Part, do not show up unless I move the cursor over them. The lines and arrow heads show in black, with a gap where the number should be. I.e. |<--- Blank --->| Have I switched something off inadvertently? Tony

    eva molding

We have a product which we are currently machining from sheets of eva. The next stage is a limited moulding run to test the market. I know very little about moulding eva and would like some information and guidance. Thanks Tony

    Mannequins for 3D design

Often when designing, I need a simple 3D mannequin with basic joint movement, ankles, knees, hips, wrists, elbows, shoulders and head, that’s scalable. Can anyone suggest a simple inexpensive software program to do this. Tony

    Vacuum Pump Filter Material

Thank you all for your help. I am cutting to almost a feather edge in places so masking may not be practical. What is a "Y" strainer.

    Vacuum Pump Filter Material

I have purchased 2nd hand a Vacuum Pump, which I intend to use on a Vacuum Table for machining rubber. The inlet (the sucking pipe) is about 1" dia. and has only a corse mesh filter. I intend to make a better filter for swarf and rubber particles, but am unsure as to what material to use for...

A few of my favorite things...

"The How and Why of Mechanical Movement - Harry Walton" is a Popular Science Book, Copyright 1968 and is similar to Mechanisms & Mechanical Devices, I got mine second hand at Amazon, very simply written, but a lot of basic information. Tony R

Turning off computer or exiting from program through VB5

Thank you for that John, as the program saves a data text file every 10 mins, shutting it down or rebooting would not be a problem. I'll write a test program and tryout all your suggestions. Tony

Turning off computer or exiting from program through VB5

I have a computer running Win98 monitoring a testing machine. The readings are via the parallel port using a Pico adaptor and VB5. The 3.3v from the parallel port via a transistor and 2 relays (one is latching), switch the machine motor. The idea is, that on completion of the test or if the...

    Television Remote Control

Thank you all for your help, I may purchase a TV-B-Gone and record the codes. There must be a few, if it takes over a minute to go through them all. Tony R

    Television Remote Control

I am in the process of designing a machine, one of the functions of which, is to switch of the television by emitting an "off" remote control code. I realise that each brand of television has a different code. Is there a universal "off" code? Where can I obtain a list of "off" codes? Tony R

Corrosion on mild steel ground surfaces

I have a test apparatus to make which uses 12mm plough ground mild steel plates. The current apparatus they have gets an unsightly covering of light rust when not being used, I have suggested a dewatering fluid such as CRC, but this picks up dust. The apparatus is inside a laboratory building...

    Side Channel Air Blowers

I have an application requiring 120 l/m (4.25 ft3/min) of air at 10 kpa (1.5 psi) and I need to power it from 12v DC, 10A max. The project is in prototype stage and I will probably make a unit to test the idea. Whilst I know how side channel blowers work, I have no idea how to calculate the...
