For fun, how would you analyze this joist?

I'd consider the primary -- and incomplete -- truss to be as shown below. Then all of the extra bits of the fans as just rather excellent transverse support for the chords.

I’d hang half a tonne from it and see what happens.
 
Simplify the design by picking the chords you like the most. Then see if the design works. If so, then you just have redundancy in your setup.

This is almost like a strut & tie model where you pick the setup.
 
@ThomasH it’s a canopy or shelter. I’d ballpark it at 12ft sloped.
@SnTMan the bacon grease locks it all together ;).
