Depends on what you mean by "classic precast pre tensioned". Which seismic design category (D, E, F?).

Allowable LFRS types are in the code.

Depends on what you mean by "classic precast pre tensioned".

The classical one is that we precast girders at the plant with pre tensioned cables, pre-cast the columns, TT Slabs at the production plant and we ship them to the site where cup foundation or continous foundation is ready beforehand, in which we errect them and comprise the column, girder + TT slabs at site with topping concrete.

Which seismic design category (D, E, F?).

C design category, approx. PGA = 0,131g


Is there any example in the world built that way? say 2 max 3 storey.

Yes there are buildings with precast components all over the place in seismic design category C. Are they constructed exactly as you are used to...probably not. Will your methods, detailing and maybe type of LFRS be different than what you are used to....probably so.

If you by "classic" mean a structure that is not designed for seismic loads, I think some modifications will be required.

I was involved with projects several years ago when a client wanted to use a module based steel building concept in seismic zon. The original design did not consider seismic loads, at all. The strength of the structure needed to be increased. But the larger problem was the detailing and the ductility in the details.

I've done data center work in the past. In my experience the client has always selected sites to avoid seismic detailing, mostly SDC A or B. Data centers can have extremely heavy floor loads due to the server racks and all the mechanical/electrical equipment. Especially with multi-story buildings, heavy mass at upper levels in high seismic zones is going to require a lot of seismic detailing...

Not sure what information you are really looking for here.

What I'm loooking here is reasonable justification and example in the world of precast data centers, even though most of the collegues agrees that precast prestressed data center may built with LFRS ( with shear walls) none of them is really willing to go that way, it seems that they relly more on RC systems. Below see 2 storey example of precast structure. Note that some column locations are empty and will be cast with top floor topping concrete wet connection type.
Having such an example in any corner of the world built within seimic zone, will be quite good entry point.

Here is a precast company that says they have built many precast data centers. They list the states that they built them, and none of them are in high-seismic zones..
