Can anyone tell me what are the big differences between RUAUMOKO and DRAIN, two dynamic analysis software?

Of what I know, DRAIN might be a finite elements program and RUAUMOKO a non-linear time-history analysis software... but what are the advantahes and disadvantages of each kind?

Thank you in advance

Felix B.

never used drain, the advantages of using Ruaumoko are :
- you can choose several hysteresis models suitable for your structure.
- It doesn't require "super" computer.
- the results of analysis very accurate provided that you model the structure accordingly.

disadvantage :
- not user-friendly
- requires a lot of pre-analysis before modeling the structure so that you have any idea about the expected responses.
