Does anyone know if Inventor 8 is backwards compatible with Inventor 6?

RE: Backwards compatability

Tony,

The only way you can read an IV 8 file in 6 is to export it to STEP or SAT.  IV like most other solid modellers don't retain backwards compatability.

You will be able to read the step or sat, it will just be a dumb solid though with no feature retention.
