Has anyone ever succefully tried to use UV coatings to harden plastics gears.

It seems like it might be easier
to spec a better plastic to achieve
what you are looking for.

What is the problem that you are trying to address?  Are you getting excessive wear?

The gear is wearing cauing debris which is then causing stepper motor speed resonaces.

I know that I can select many palstics, but just wondered if anyone had experince with UV hardcoating for gears
