Can anyone tell me what material allowable to use when sizing a shear key. We need to check bearing on shaft and sprocket, bearing on key, and shear on key. Do we use Fsu/2? Fbry, a percentage of Ftu? No reference I have is real clear on this. The key length must be sized not to extend out of the sprocket. Is this right?
