What mechanisms prevent retaining walls with bore piles from overturning?
 
They are designed to resist overturning. The bored piles are designed either to cantilever without any additional support beyond passive resistance; or they are designed with some type of lateral support, such as tieback anchors, bracing, or an attached structure.
