The Steel Deck Institute has a lot of resources. For whatever type of deck you're using -- roof deck, composite deck, etc. -- they have standards and other docs. I'd start there.
The SDI are a little pricey for the material they produce (still good material). Their pricing does not encourage people to use steel deck. As a student funds may be limited.
