bending of parts resulted in snapping...
if print calls out 6061 and we use 6063(by error) could
you say you cannot substitute one for the other,as far as

1) grain direction
2) bend radius
3) hardness or temper of the alloy
4) alloy group
5) bending method (air vs bottoming)
Substituting 6063-T52 for 6061-T6 is appropriate as long as the other mechanical properties are acceptable. For instance, 6061 is stronger. Each has different alloying constituents which may have other impacts such as corrosion.
Have you tried bending against the grain, using an appropriate radius?
