ANSI Pump Allowable Nozzle Loads Vs Actual Loads
ANSI Pump Allowable Nozzle Loads Vs Actual Loads
(OP)
Hi fellow experienced Engineers,
I am doing a stress analysis for an exsiting piping connected to an ANSI horizontal pump that has given allowable nozzle loads / moments for the suction and discharge nozzle. I am consistently getting very high Fb and Fc for the operating cases (high temp and low temp). SUS case and HYD case are both within allowables. I have been playing around with supports here an there but looks like the loads stay around the same value and are very high (Fb and Fc). Any ideas how can I control these and what to look out for in existing piping design? Thanks
