MNF Stress and Strain Contour in Animation and Postprocessor

MNF Stress and Strain Contour in Animation and Postprocessor

(OP)
hi

I have developed a MNF File for the rear twist beam and it works well. The thing is that it shows the deformation contour when I want to see the animation or in the postprocessor.

How can I see the stress Contour? Mind you I have tried the postprocessor contour label and I can't find the Stress in the menu bar...

Thanks in advance

RE: MNF Stress and Strain Contour in Animation and Postprocessor

I don't do any of that but if you change the contour plot type that you MIGHT see stress.

If so I am baffled because an MNF is basically a fancy stiffness/mass matrix, it isn't a detailed model of the structure. I would guess that you normally take the time histories of forces or displacement at the interface nodes and use those to drive your original FEM.

Cheers

Did you request output of the GRID point stresses when you generated the MNF file?
