We are heat treating 17-4 PH to H900 and trying to sort out the best drawing notes to say we want a bright and shiny surface (no Tint) after heat treating. Not wanting to specify what process they use to get there just what our expectation is after heat treating. Parts are fully machined prior to heat treat.

For small parts . Add a note to the heat treater no oxidation permitted. Must be run in vacuum or wrapped in foil.
