RF EM measurement uncertainty
RF EM measurement uncertainty
(OP)
In the measurements of high frequency (RF) electromagnetic fields for safety purposes, the operator is holding the SRM-3006 measurement probe in his hand (E-field, isotropic), with the 1.5 m extension cable. The operator proximity introduces an error into the measurement. How is this error assessed? What are typical measurement uncertainties associated with operator proximity? How far does the operator have to be from the sensor to minimize this error? I am interested in both near and far field, but any information pertaining to uncertainty assessment, due to operator presence, is welcome. Safety is assessed according to the ICNIRP guidelines.
