MDB and BOM Balloons

(OP)
I know we all have been begging PTC to create some sort of 3D BOM ballooning that is linked to the assembly structure, but dont know if its every going to come

What are some strategies you all have done that are easy to do and not impossible to maintain?

I have done the manual ballooning in 3d and then adding them to combination states, and once you get to triple digits, thats not fun anymore, let alone when you need to change something.

Background, our production folks and manufacturing engineers have started to use Creo View files that we create to make their work instructions and work aids, so we are kinda getting on the MBD train and its kinda great
