API 14C in paragraph 6.2.2.1 says :
"The undesirable events discussed in this paragraph are those that might develop in a process component under worst-case conditions of input and output."
I don't understand the exactly the meaning of "input and output". For example corrosion is the cause of leakage and has not related to conditions of input and output.

Any respond on this is appreciated.
