How to display the chip in cutting FEM

Hi all,
I am a new ABAQUS user and modeled a cutting process using dynamic explicit. The results make sense but it doesn't show the separated material and doesn't show the chip at all,I want to see the chip formation and I have already selected the STATUS but it doesn't work. can anyone help me with that? Thanks

RE: How to display the chip in cutting FEM

In this scenario the tool works like a dozer or a moving wall and all elements that make contact with it are removed from mesh due to damage behavior. Try with sharp tool (rake angle > 0).

RE: How to display the chip in cutting FEM

Thanks, I will try it again as you said

RE: How to display the chip in cutting FEM

so sad, I have tried to run the model again after correcting the rake angle, but it seems that it didn't work either.

RE: How to display the chip in cutting FEM

Maybe you should adjust the damage criteria. Also check some tutorials about cutting simulations in Abaaus, it’s a very common topic so you can easily find useful resources. If you carefully examine and recreate such example then you may find out what causes the problems in your case.

RE: How to display the chip in cutting FEM

FEA way, Thank you for your patient guidance.
