FlareBevel Weld Tube to a Plate 1

Can someone point me in the direction to determine the weld size, and effective throat to weld a tube to a plate for this to develop a moment. Tube is roughly 2" dia HSS and plate is likely 3/8". The condition is for a guardrail. Thanks

So it's a matter of speccing a throat thickness... something like 1/4" or something like that... the weld strength is then treated like a normal fillet weld with that throat size?

Yes. Just make sure how to measure and specify the throat dimension, then it is treated as fillet weld.
