Dear friends,
I am working on the Well Integrity Management Program for SAGD wells. Can anyone suggests where I can find information on corrosion of saltwater disposal wells? including casings and downhole tube

Appreciated

Google will probably take you to OnePetro with one of its first hits. NACE conference papers might also be up in the top five.

Thanks for the information. But it doesn't help me.

This is a good place to start:

The technical library at NI has a lot of good reference materials.
You have to assume that the disposal water is oxygen saturated. These chew up nearly all metals. It is tough service.

So, you can't plug "produced water disposal well corrosion" into Google?

Thanks for all answers. To answer Sjones comment, Google doesn't give leads to specific areas of corrosion I am looking for. I am looking SAGD SWD casing and tubing corrosion problems.
Thanks

Can't it just be produced water? What will be so different with SAGD produced water?

Demsha. If you want more specific answers then you need to provide more specific data.

Such as chloride level, o2 level, temp, pressure etc. Anything specific to SAGD.

There's lots of info here and out there on corrosion from salt water.

What material are you thinking of our using now. Warm/hit aerated salt water is very corrosive to many metals. How much money do you have?

Remember - More details = better answers
Also: If you get a response it's polite to respond to it.

RE: Salt water disposal well corrosion - SAGD process

This isn't actually any different than people that inject seawater for formation support.
It may have different impurities, but in the end it is oxygenated salt water.
Knowing the temperature and pH will allow you to put a range on materials that are likely candidates for service.

You are in place, you should teach us about the question you are putting about. I would like to help you.
