NX Nastran SOL 101 rotor dynamics

NX Nastran SOL 101 rotor dynamics

NX Nastran SOL 101 rotor dynamics

(OP)
Does anyone have a working example model regarding the simulation type stated in the subject?
Because for me once I create such solultion it seems that the solution takes into account only the centrifugal load around not the main rotation axis of the shaft(pitching), and neglects the centrifugal load from the main rotation and also the gyroscopic effect.

RE: NX Nastran SOL 101 rotor dynamics

Are you sure about SOL101? Usually Rorordynamics problems solved using SOL103 (critical speeds) and SOL108-111(Frequency and Time response).
Anyway check (NX Nastran or Femap or Simcenter directory) / nastran / Support.zip or Support folder. This archive contain couple of thousands of NX Nastran input file (.dat, .nas or .bdf) examples. Read rotordyn.pdf for detailed descriptions.

Yes, I'm 100% certain, here is a snippet from the Documentation

I did check the support dat files (they start with rot101_*). But for most of them the reader encounters some error, mostly related to the rotational load, which makes these input files quite unusable.

RE: NX Nastran SOL 101 rotor dynamics

OK, it`s maneuver load, never make this type of rotordyn analysis. Some entities may be lost during import into preprocessor from input file. To avoid this run input file using Nastran executable, without any GUI, this should work. Some input files have strange formatting (big mess of cards without limiters) but solver should read them properly.
